SMI Barrels
« on: October 26, 2007, 10:43:03 AM »
Has anyone purchased on of these in place of the regular black powder barrels? They are a bit pricey in the tune of $350! Just wondering what kind of accuracy I could expect from one? It would be nice to go smokeless!!!

Thanks

Rj 1,

I bought one about 18 months ago, but sent it back unfired for several reasons. My barrel and experience was not good at all, but they did refund my money, less shipping my receiver to them for fitting (joke) and my shipping to return the barrel. I guess there are people happy with theirs, but I think you need to be on the inside loop at MM to get a quality job done.

As much as I don't care for the Savage poster boy, IMO you would be much better off getting a black/black ML10II for around 50 bucks more, maybe less. (whole gun with warranty).

FYI, I still don't own a smokeless, but have shot a couple Savages. If I do end up getting one it will probably be a NULA (about $1,400 Ouch). If you have an extra $3,500 bucks laying around you could get a Bad Bull ( Big Ouch!).

Or you could just stay with the Huntsman spend a few extra on a 25acp conversion shoot Shockeys gold and be wallet fat and happy. Kurt
