Favorite Rings - Weaver Bases
« on: August 16, 2007, 06:03:09 AM »
I've got an Encore in 308 Win.  It has a Weaver base on it.  What are your favorite rings for Weaver bases?

Thanks,
Matt

I like z rings too. Mosly because they are a good looking ring that works. But push comes to shove in a heavy recoiling gun those ugly weaver rings hold a scope in place about better then anything.

Kwik Site vertical rings.  They are cut from a continuous bar of extruded aluminum, therefore both halves are identical and they eliminate the need for lapping rings.  I'm slowly converting all of my mounts to this set up.  I'm a ring lapper, but I can't find any reason to with these rings, they are perfect, not to mention dirt cheap.  They are what I use on my .454 Casull 12" Encore barrel and they've held up great for several years now.

I am ready to get the burris signature zee rings. I want to get the scope mounted up high enough that I can get to the hammer with hunting gloves on without any trouble, I assume that...with the meduim rings...I will need a hammer extension?
I do not want to use the extension.....so the high rings will be my best best...right? My scope is the Burris Fullfield II....
