blackhawk cylinders

is there a way to get say a 45acp cylinder for a 45 colt  blackhawk. if so is there a lot of fitting to do to match the cylinder to the gun?

  Ruger may fit one if the end result is the same as a cataloged model.  They will not fit  and parts so that the finished product is a non-cataloged variation.   (they're not a custom shop)  Call and ask.
  The better gunsmith can easily provide one and if your lucky you may find a used one that'll time to your gun.

I have sent several stainless .45 Colt NMBH to Ruger for fitting of .45 ACP cylinders. They work great. They would not fit one to my Bisley, though, even though they sell that configuration.

i called ruger they said they would sell me a 45acp cylinder but it is 160 for fitting and other charges.i have to send my gun to them . doesn't seem all bad. thanks again dan

  The stainless Bisley models while Ruger produced are distributor models and not cataloged models.  They'll only do work to thier firearms that result in a variation which was a catloged model.
  Besides, there's plenty of the Acusport convertables around again.

My SS .45 Bisley is one of the first lot without the .45 ACP cylinder. While I really like using the .45 ACP cylinders in the .45 Colt revolvers, I don't mind too much with this one. I prefer the standard NMBH grip to the Bisley grip.

I just got my SS .357 NMBH back. I had them change the 4 5/8" barrel to 6 1/2" and they added a SS 9mm cylinder. I haven't yet shot it. It will be interesting to see if the 9mm capability is worth anything.
