Ammo prices

Due to a timing fluke in the way I bought components and ammuntion, it now actually costs me more to shoot the 22 than it costs to shoot the 45. This is for bullseye shooting with 200 grain SWCs.

Wait for a sale at dicks sporting goods or at walmart on bricks of 22's.
Reloading seems to be costing more nowadays too.
My new wolf 45acp ammo comes from
www.armory.com
when they lower the prices/sales. I also watch cabela's and sportmans guide too. It pays to shop around.
I hoping the prices come down soon and i'll buy 10k of every caliber i shoot just to stock up. And reloading stuff too.

Actually, at current prices, it costs me twice as much to shoot .22 (CCI Standard Velocity) as it does 45 ACP (200 grain SWC), but that's because I cast my own bullets.

I noticed that bulk .45 bullets have doubled since the first of the year. The 230 gr. roundnose the I and the wife practice with, went fron $22.49 to $43.99 per 250 in Cabelas and Midway. Scary!

I saw that doubling for cast bullets at big box stores, but I am not paying nearly that much through my local reloading supply gun shop. It's closer to $32 per 500 200 grain SWCs. I've always found the big box stores to have much higher costs than my local gun shops for cast bullets. One more reason to continue patronizing these fine men.
