44 mag Cowboy Rifle Silhouette Load
« on: April 21, 2007, 02:04:07 PM »
I decided to go back to a 44 mag For Cowboy Rifle Silhouette but I can't find the load that I used to use for this game so I guess I am starting over.  If you have a good load, I am interested.  I prefer a stout load for Rams and a pea shooter load for chickens through turkeys.

The club that I shoot at has the worst excuses for Rams I have ever seen.  They are all different shapes and some of them have really wide feet.      They are easy to set hard and most of the target setters do.  I had to quit shooting my 30-30 because it rang so many rams.

Powders that I have on hand are AA9, 1680, 5744, 2400, 4227, Lil'Gun, and Blue Dot on the slow side and Bullseye, Unique(old and new), titgroup, win231, and AA2 on the fast side.  I have several 240 and 300 gr molds and some 300gr laser cast on hand too.  I also have some 240 gr jacketed bullets on hand.

The Rifle is a puma 92 with a marble sight and a 24 inch octagon barrel.

Thanks for your help

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.

Yes, I would like to see some loading data for the same rifle.  But I think I might use the Sierra 300 gr. JSP for the Rams.  Any help would be appreciated.
