Hornady Leverevolution in 35 Remington
« on: November 03, 2007, 05:50:41 PM »
I learned that my custom load with an older 180 gr. Barnes bullet may have too much pressure for a Contender. Sent an e mail to Barnes to see if the newer version is safe and have not received a reply from them. My question is - has anyone used the Hornady Leverevolution 35 remington bullets in a Contender? I have a Marlin 444 that shoots them MOA. Do you think there would be pressure problems? Thanks for helping to sort this out.

They don't operate at higher than SAAMI pressures they just use a different non cannister powder that gives supposedly higher velocity at standard pressures. I've read tho that whatever that powder is/was that they can't get it now and that velocities are currently back to the more standard velocity but I've not verified that. No reason you can't use them in the TC that I'm aware of.
