New Traps, old traps

I have always used old used traps that have been handed down. Now I am looking to buy a few more knew traps. What should I do to get the oil and smell off these new traps?. I have heard of boiling them in wax. Any suggestions?I also have some old traps that have some rust on them. How do I need to prepare them? I am new to this so sorry if the questions are dumb.

well bradybuck the new and old traps i take to a car wash and blast them clean then i dip my traps in a trap dip you want some rust so the dip will cover the traps well boiling them in wax  is ok but to much work for me  neal tghe illinoisbzbeaver

I have dipped all my traps and they are drying right now... how long should I wait to take them out and use them?Should I store them in something for a while before using or can I just let them dry and use them now?
