Question About 336W
« on: November 03, 2007, 01:33:32 PM »
Been looking at the 336W (in 30-30) at Wal Mart for a close range gun, using only open sights.  How does this gun compare to the 336A?

Can anybody make a recommendation either for or against the 336W?  It's $318 before taxes.

Thanks.

The 336W is a fine rifle. There is nothing wrong with it at all. The difference is the stock. The 336W has a walnut finish hard wood stock, usually birch. The 336A has a walnut stock. The 336W at Walmart is hard to beat. I believe that rifle even comes with the sling.

Buy it!! You can't go wrong with a Marlin, especially for $318. They both (336A & 336W) come with hardwood checkered stocks, about the only difference I see is the 336A has a blued trigger and the 336W has a gold plated trigger and does come with the sling as stated....The 336C comes with the American black walnut stock
