Would I gain anything by doing this?

Was shooting my 460 S&W mag encore barrel today and noticed how easy the cases was to remove and to insert back into the chamber of the barrel after firing.So the question is how would it be to just neck size only.I've never neck sized only a strait wall case before or heard anyone else doing it.Would I gain anything by doing this?I would think cases would last longer.Would it help Accuracy? ect.

 About the only reason to partial length resize straight walled cases that I can think of is to be able to use shorter but more common and inexpensive dies. For instance I loaded 357 maximum on 357/38 dies I loaded for my 460 encore using 45lc-454 dies

I have found that cases fail first where I crimp them (cracks in the case mouth). Partially resizing would not fix that problem. With that said,; you can try to partially resize to see if they will shoot straighter. I doubt it, but you will not know until you try. If you are going to just "neck" size, then size down to where the base of the bullet will go. Do not go less than that, bullet grip is as important as a crimp in straight walled cartridges. Adjust the die so the case goes in as far as the bullet base you are loading.
