My new Hornet..

I received a used 10" TC 22 hornet bbl from Auction arms a few weeks ago. Mounted a 7x Burris EER, load was 9g H110 with CCI small pistol primers, and 52g Hornady BTMHPs.

5 shots went into 1" on several occasions with my worst groups running < 2". From a makeshift 2x4 rest.

I am hoping to use this load for IHMSA Field pistol.

I have had excellent results with a 10" hornet barrel with 12.6 to 13.0 grains of lil gun and 40 grain hornady v-max. groups have amazed me. I also have found small pistol primers to work best. :-)

Will definitely be trying lil gun in the near future.   Also the 40 (and maybe even 35) gr vmaxes.

I had a 10" hornet that I loaded with 45gr nosler hornets and 9.6grains of 2400. At 50yds this load would literally punch one hole with 10 shot groups that would normally be between 1/4 and 1/2 inch.

That was the most accurate barrel I have ever owned.

You'll have fun with it.

Good shooting,

HL

the 22 hornet has a reputation of being very accurate ,.
Drichi has the latest most popular combo with using lil gun and small pistol primers .
I have a hornet barrel I will start working on soon and you can bet that I will try that combo , I have a box of 35 grain V-max just for it.
