Hi all,
Just thought I would share my frustration with someone else.
I recently purchased a new compound bow from good 'ole' all American PSE. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed on the box was that it said, accessories made in America and bow made in Taiwan. I immediately called PSE at their Tuscon AZ plant and spoke to someone in tech support. She told me that "pretty much" all of their products are made here but there are a few items (any bow under $200) that are imported from "other countries". I even asked about other items and mentioned some re-curve models, she told me that they were also made in Taiwan. After "venting" to her, I then requested the process for a refund. I looked further on their website to find an article about PSE recently being on Ratzinberger's TV show "Made in America" and how proud the owners are of this plant. Obviously they didn't look at my bow or other products mentioned below when they filmed the TV segment.
I don't have anything against Taiwan or any other country, the fact is, I chose this company and did what I thought was plenty of research to find a good American bow company. All they had to do was disclose that fact that their Heritage or value series line of equipment was imported. I would have thrown in an extra $100 bucks to get an American model. Heck, If I wanted to buy a Chinese bow, I would have just gone down to Walmart and picked one up the same day.
Buy the way, the bow I had the issue with was the silverhawk package. Also, their re-curvess like the kingfisher and buckeye are not made here either. And their heritage re-curves have the handles made here but the limbs are imported.
So Buyer beware. next time I will do MORE research.
