Lyman Mould Quality down hill

I have been buying mostly Lyman brand moulds since 1970 but returned a new 2 cavity 30 caliber 210 grain mould to Lyman last week. I had just ordered the mould from Midsouth shooting supply. The mould cavitys were elongated and bullets measured .300 on one side and .308 on the other. They are supposed to drop from the mould .311 diameter. I had to pay the return shipping and will see what they will do, hopefuly Lyman will send a round bullet mould back.

sorry but 2 cavity lyman molds have never impressed me. I like there 4 cavity molds and think there a much better mold but when it comes to 2 cavity molds there at the bottome of the heap just a tad above a lee in my opinion. I have wore out more 2 cavity lyman molds then all other brands combined (with the exception of lee)

Loyld,
I agree the 4 cavities are tougher. Lyman does not make 4 cavities in rifle calibers like the 30 caliber GC I ordered but there is always RCBS in a 2 cavity.

I've got one Lyman mold, a 280gr-.44 that throws a fine bullet. Had 2 others that weren't worth the metal they were made from. Everything else is either Saeco,LBT, or NEI. gypsyman
