They make them because people have asked for them and the demand has made it worth while to make and sell. Why, is anyone's guess. They are not a very good killer, they will pass through with out much damage. They ricochet all over the place. Usually cheap so they are not the most accurate bullet made. The only possible reasons I could think for it is fur bearing critters, punching holes through body armor, steel or cheap blasting. Personally I do not fit any of those categories. I had some where around 500 in .224 given to me, I sure would not have bought them I think the guy was using them for pistol silhouette events with a 22 Hornet and got out of it. I have used a few to sight in a scope to at least get me into the ball park. I could see using them for fire forming a case since they were free, but I have to be very careful where I shoot them.
