Elite Questions

How are the triggers? Are they easily adjusted or stoned into smoothness? Any problem with their extractors? If you get a poor shooting barrel will CVA replace the barrel like Thompson Center does? Do they handle reasonably well? Is average accuracy better than 1 1/2 inches in say the 243, 308 or 30-06?

CVA/BPI will take care of the triggers for you...they really don't want you doing them like on a Handi..It can void the factory warranty if you elect to do your own..but..is possible to do...but mine has a very nice crisp clean 3lb pull on it..They try to have them sent out with a 4lb pull....They will take care of any poor shooting barrels that are defective..but..they cannot account for shooter errors or hand loads, and will shoot it with factory ammunition to check them when sent in. As too their handling characteristics...the handle fine and shoot great..and recoil mostly straight back with their stock design..Their crush zone recoil pad does an excellent job of absorbing & redistributing the recoil so it isn't punishing with heavy loads.

I am hunting on a new lease where all the box blinds are already there and they were built with the idea of keeping cost to a minimum. Meaning they were built so that 5 pieces of plywood cover the entire exterior. The interior is 42" by 43" and they are 8 feet tall, pretty solid too. I want a short light accurate rifle with a 22 or 24" inch barrel. I am looking at the "compact" version of the Optima Elite which I can get in 243 from Walmart for $275.

Good choice...Pick up some Federal Fusion ammo for it and you'll be good to go...
