Nikon Omega Scope with BDC

Does the Nikon Omega Scope with BDC really work as advertised? I've been thinking about putting one on my Pro Hunter. I shoot 120grs. of T7,but could go to the advertised load of three Pyrodex pellets. I know there's a lot of advertisement Hype out there,but it sure would be nice if it works as stated. Ron

They make a good scope. The BDC works as advertised. I was so impressed with mine I now own 4 Nikon scopes. One is the pro-staff  model in a 2x7 shotgun scope. It is holding up better than my shoulder on a .375H&H. The Monarch series are just great glass, period. I also have a Buckmaster series on a pet project .17. I find all of them hold zero and have good light gathering capabilities and color contrast.  They are just good scopes. I have been thinking about a new set of binoculars. I will take a long look at Nikon for sure.

No need to use the 3 triple7 pellets, you will get the same results with 120 gr. of loose triple7. That is what I use with mine along with the T/C 250 gr. Bonded shock wave bullets. And yes the scope works as advertised.

I got the scope in yesterday. I have to say,it is a nice scope! I'm going to sight it in today (if the wind cooperates) at 100yds. Then on out to 250yds. I noticed that the booklet states you can help match the trajectory of your gun by adjusting the power setting of the scope to compensate for different bullet drop. (Dumb question) What power setting do you use at 250yds? I usually set the scope at the higest power while sighting in at 100yds, should I leave it at 9 power to shoot the diffrent ranges? Ron

For my long distance shooting over 150 yard I use 9 power. I sighted mine in at 9 powder. It worked for me.

 I just got in from shooting. The conditions were not ideal(15-20mph) but I thought I could get it close enough at 100yds,to help with the final zero when conditions are better. Redhawk,thanks for the advice!  The gun has never shot,or loaded better! I won't need to be looking for a sabot that loads easier now. I'll try to post a pic of the target (I can't seem to get them to come up on here) If not I'll post a link to it. Thanks, again for the info. Ron

Yeah, Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it! The gun is allot easier to load,and shoot now. It's always had good accuracy,but was a bear to load,and if I found a sabot that fit loose,and loaded easy,it wouldn't shoot very well. Now it's the best of both worlds. I also noticed the fired sabots that were down range,weren't tore up. Before they always had petals torn off of them. Now they almost look like you could re-use them. It must be helping the sabots deal with the high pressure Ron

Finally got to shoot the gun today (in the wind) @150 and 250yds. The elevation was perfect! Had to use a little "Kentucky windage" to hit at 250,but I was expecting that with a cross wind. This scope is as advertised,simply sight in dead on at 100yds,and you are done! Simply Amazing! Ron
