I your using the partridge, open sight, it would be a simple job to file it down some. For best results, remove the sight and mount the file in a vise. Draw the sight squarely over the file. Remember, a little goes a long way. I'm gonna mount a red dot sight on my 1377.

If the point of impact is that far off- and I don't understand just how the pellet could have such a radically high trajectory- the front sight is too low already, and filing it down will only make things worse. A lower front sight will raise the muzzle more than it is now and your POI will be a lot higher.  DON'T alter the front sight!  Find out first if the gun itself is defective. There could very well be a problem with the barrel, maybe an off center crown or a burr that is causing the problem. Could it be the rear sight adjustment is not right?
If you have one of the new guns with the crummy plastic breech you need to get a decent aftermarket metal one from Crookedbarn or CO2une. That way you will at least have a set of rails to mount a decent sight on.

Well, if you get an aftermarket breech with rails you can almost certainly mount a Williams peep on it. Other than that with the factory plastic breech you're out of luck I'm afraid.

I was refering to the REAR sight with my suggestion to file it down. My 1377 has 2 rear sight choices. Standard partridge square blade or a peep. The peep sight is for use with a shoulder stock attached. It is a simple matter to reduce the highth of the square blade. BTW, good suggestion to check the crown. Use a magnifying glass. A Q-Tip, ran around the crown should not snag or leave behind any material. Sorry for the mix-up.

If you use a Crookedbarn breech you can mount any sighting device that will fit on a 3/8in rail. Scopes, red dots, peeps, what ever you want. The Williams peep should be low enough to use on a 1377 without changing the front sight. Just be sure if you get one that it can mount on a 3/8in rail. Theres no reason you can't use a scope on a 1377, lots of guys do. The Crosman 457 mounts can be used also, but you're better off with a new (better) breech in the long run anyway.
