Feeding the elderly
« on: November 13, 2007, 03:07:18 PM »
I was at my mom's this past weekend for the long Vet's day weekend. She was complaining that I didn't bring her any deer meat so I told her I would try to get her a deer of her own. This was the last weekend of bow season before gun season opens on the 17th. I had planned to hunt some mountain property, but instead I set up a stand in the woods at my mom's. Sunday morning 6 does came in and I filled her freezer with this tasty lady.

Complete pass through with 100gr Wasp JakHammer SST expandable. This is the 3rd deer I have shot with these broadheads. Every deer has expired within sight. These are very similar to the Rocket Steelheads. Both are great performers.

Nice Doe.

I use Rocket Steelheads also . These fly closest to field points I have used thus far from my Ultra2.

Friday is gun season here in Illinois. Hoping this year I can snag a deer or 2 with handgun. I am very much looking forward to muzzleloader season to shoot my Lyman's 54 cal Great Plains percussion with open sights.
