What the rep called a (combo) 50 cal muzzleloader and a rifle barrel to switch and make 2 different guns  would start out at 780.00 up. 300win mag 243 30/06 270  I called Decatur Alabama early morning and they called me back that afternoon  50 cal muzzle loader would be about 480.00 what configurations I am not sure synthetic black/blue  barrel is what I recall  Hope that helps

How is this not off topic on this forum?

I have a KP1 270/50 combo on order that should be here next week, I'll post a review of how it looks when it arrives.

Just talked to the Knight rep.. They will have 1,000 KP1's shipped by Sept. 15. Mine may or may not be in that group.

Are they going to make you buy a muzzle loader barrel even if you don't want it?
It seems like they are doomed to fail if they do.

From the looks of their advertising, which is rather confusing, it looks like you will have to buy them as a set including a 50caliber muzzle loader.  I really don't need another 50 cal muzzle loader but would be interested in the center fire  rifle in the right caliber.

I just got off the phone talking to Knight Rifles and Green Mountain who makes the barrels for them.Knight said that the big shipment is going out next week and the first to receive them will be CABELAS.I asked him how come the long delays in shipping them out, and he would not give me an answer!! I called Cabelas and got bad news that ONLY the retail stores are going to get them  ( not through the catalog)and they cannot be shipped to a residence by mail because they are deemed a switch barrel rifle ( like the Encore) and either you get one at a store OR he said, order through Cabelas and get it shipped to a FFL dealer in your area. Also, these are going to be sold only in a " Combo-Value Package which will include both the black powder barrel and a metallic  rifle cartridge in various calibers. The triggers are I am told being pre-set at 4.5 lbs.Originally I read it was to be 3.5 but he said that was changed. Not good for me as there are no nearby Cabelas dealers and no stocking Knight dealers around either. He said that if your dealer has not pre-ordered some of these KP-1s, they will not be getting them for some period of time. Good luck to those who have a dealer or a Cabelas nearby.Hopefully BassPro or Gander Mountain will carry them in the Buffalo area.

Friday I help & played around with a KP1 rifle serial #101. It is a Stainless black composit with a muzzle loader barrel. My combo has not been made & probably will not until next year. The factory is busy making 45-70's so if you want a KP1 order 1 & it might show up this year. We did not shoot it because I did not want to clean it.

I like the way the stock feels much better than an encore. The trigger as shipped 4# with 1/16 of play is better than any from the factory trigger. It opened easily & had no tooling marks, the inside of the action looks better finished than the encore. I have now ordered a 45-70 with a laminated stock, so hopefully it will be here soon & I can let you'll know how it shoots.
