« on: August 16, 2003, 02:36:55 PM »
I'm looking at a like new Desert Eagle that is finished in titanium gold and was wondering just how durable that finish would be.  Don't see any bragging on their www so looking for input here. Thanks in advance Sekiar

Titaniam Nitrite Coatings are used for surface finish on cutting tools. You'll also find it on some sizing dies that are steel. They need no lube and can be used just like carbide dies. I have used alot of cutting tools that are T.I.N. coated and can atest to the extream durability of the coating. I personally don't care for the looks of the coated Desert Eagle but you would be hard pressed to find a more durable finish.  KN
