New 44 Mag Barrel slugged!!

Got my 44mag and 357mag barrels today, slugged the 44, .424" lands and.4285 in the grooves, not real deep, but nice and tight!! ;D

what kind of recoil does the 44 mag. barrel have.  Is it comparable to 223, 243 or what.  I can't imagine that it would be worse than a 243, but hoping that it is around 223 level.  That would make a great youth gun.

Haven't shot mine yet, but I suspect it's real mild, even those shooting 300gr XTPs at almost 2000fps in their Supermags don't have any complaints.

I checked the throat, I can reach the lands with the 240gr XTP with an acceptable amount of bullet seated in the case, 300gr bullets would be easy.

The 357 has the expected real long throat as they all do, the 180gr Hornady SSP touching the lands would be just out of the 360 Dan Wesson brass which does fit in the chamber.

Dang Tim your going to make me spend some more $$$$$
