Cracked fenders and plastic

 What is a good repair for cracked,broken fenders or plastic parts? I was just going to drill some holes and use aluminum with rivets to bring the part together and keep it from cracking further.
 Is there any thing like JB weld for plastic? or some other method?

harbor freight and other places sell plastic welders and welding rod. Wal-mart sells an epoxy called plasticweld or similar name. You could also use a fiberglass repair kit.

A GOOD plastic welder does a decent job but the end result is still not as strong as original.  None of the glues or epoxy available are worth carrying home since there is no known adhesive that will attach to polyethylene under adverse conditions.  Pick up some color matching plastic wire ties and frankenstein the thing. (Holes on each side of the crack and lash together with latches underneath) It may not be pretty as a good weld job but will come closer to holding together and it is quick and easy.

I've patched several cracks with 1/16' alum. plate and pop rivets and it works great, no more cracks. I've also used the wire ties and they work just as and are quicker and easier to do. Personally I think the plate and rivets look a little better.

Guess my mind is faster than my fingers. I meant to say the wire ties work just as well as the plate and rivets.

 :D in a way that's funny,because I did use wire ties on it...LOL. I've used aluminum and rivets before on snow machines though too.

I have 2 long (6-10 inch) cracks in my front and rear fenders and applied 3 mats and fiber glass under the fenders. Also ran a small bead of marine epoxy in the cracks on top of the fenders to block moisture from causing the fiber glass to separate from the fenders. Still holding after 12 months.
