Where are these rings/bases made?
« on: November 20, 2007, 06:45:39 AM »
Weaver Grand Slam standard bases and rings?

Redfield standard bases and rings?

Burris standard bases and rings?

Millet standard bases and rings?

These are all 'Leupold look a likes'. However they offer something ol Leupold does not, an extended rear ring AND front ring. Leupold makes an extended front ring but no extended rear ring. I'm hoping that the extended rear ring is the answer to my prayers with this stinkin rifle! I just can't get the proper eye relief! I need the scope (any scope not just this one) to move further rearward than what it currently is capable of. However I do not want some made in China, poorly heat treated (if at all) POS ring that will fail under recoil. Thanks.

The Weaver GS top mount rings are made in China, they aren't very true and required significant lapping, I wouldn't recommend them, they're pretty crude.

That's a shame, are ALL Weaver products made in China? Namely their scopes?

Their scopes are made in Japan, 5 in the last couple years that I've bought all were,  a K15, V3, K2.5, RV7,and a Classic 4x32 shotgun.

Would you happen to have an idea as to where the Redfield, Millet, and Burris bases/rings are made?

Burris Signature Zee and Zee rings are marked on the package, "Made in USA", dunno about Redfield or Millet.
