FEB.3--A HERD OF ROBIN"S

 Got some very early arrivals today.Looked out my window and saw my first robin,within minutes I had several dozen in my yard.Thes poor birds are going to have a rough time,plowing through the snow.Sure hope they make it.

Interesting observation Tom, ive been hearing reports like yours about robins all over the northern states this year.... i havent seen any here in north central Wisconsin...  In late fall  why trapping i see flocks of robins going thru the woods on their migrations but thats  about it.   Never seen a robin at my winter feeders so dont know what they would eat more of.  I know the buggers like my grapes as if i dont cover them or pick them  at the proper time flocks of robins come in and just about  decimate the crop in a day or two.

It was 62 degrees here in NE Arkansas this morning and supposed to get in the seventies today.  The robins probably had to come north to cool off.  The ducks and geese here are heading north too.

 The flock of robins,stuck around for a couple days.I sure hope they found a warmer place to hang out.
 12 below yesterday morning,and there was a robin sitting in one of my trees.That poor guy must have had on his long johns.

No robins here but  cardinals, mourning doves, juncos, chickadees.  nuthatches,  24 below  thursday morn, supposed to be warming up.. Sounds like it will be a good saturday for the Birkenbiener, 7000  xc skiers   doing 55 k.
