Who all has scoped their mosin nagant's?

If you put a scope on your mosin nagant, what kind of scope mount did you use and what kind of scope do you have on it?

I used the ATI mount and have a Leapers 3-9X40 AO  illuminated mil dot reticle mounted on it. The scope is overkill and I think a fixed 4 power would work much better on it.

I have a 1947 vintage rework of a 1935 made Korean war trophy that has a wonderful williams side mount that works extremely well.  I never thought I would like the side mount, but it really works well on this rifle.  If you aren't worried about putting it back to issue, this is a good way to go with a standard scope.

I've put 3 of Darrells Scout Mounts on my Milsurps, including 2 Mosins.  Just love that thing!  No gunsmithing, doesn't affect the collectors value, and as rugged as a tank.  Fairly small and affordable too.

Check out Darrells scout mount forum at:

http://parallaxscurioandrelicfirearmsforums.yuku.com/forums/116/t/Darrell-s-Scout-Mount-Forum.html

You will find that they are designed for hunting/rugged field use.  And to top it off, Darrell is a heck of a great guy!

That still amazes me…I don’t care who you are or how much I care about you, I would never let you kill my son.  I can’t even begin to understand how much He loves us.

I have one of those SOG Mosin Nagant Snipers that came from the arsenal with a PU scope. Scope is '64, Nagant is an Izzy '43. Very nice shape. Have not had time to sight it in. Scope is very clear, looks new.

i scoped one with the ATI mount as well. i too put a 3-9x40, and i concur its overkill. A nice simple 4x or low variable suits it just fine.
the mount is fine, but using the supplied bolt means cutting the stock as well.

Two of my Mosins wear glass.
A shot-out battle hardened M38 has a cheapo mount and an NC-Star scope which has held up surprisingly well, but it's not exactly quality.

My M91/59 with pristine barrel and gorgeous wood has a Darrell's mount with a Burris 2.75x20 scope up top. Yes, I realize that scope and mount together cost 3 times what I paid for the rifle. Yes, it is worth it. I handload for this rifle and shoot 1-2 MOA w/o much trouble, which is certainly saying something for a Mosin.
