Info and stuff on an 8" trooper
« on: November 05, 2007, 11:34:03 AM »
Folks,  I came across a 8" or 10" colt anyway it looked llllooonnnggg.  It was marked a trooper, but it did not have a barrel shroud and it had adjustable sights, Blued,  .357 mag.  I'm looking for any info, It's priced at $440  I'd say in 90% or better.  How's the value, rarity, interest??  I must say besides an agent I had years ago I know next to nothing about colts...more of a S&W guy.

thanks

bob

norville, I'm going to take a guess at this. It kinda sounds to me like you have a cross breed. Years and years ago, 20 or better, I remember reading about some gunsmith's that had taken the barrel off of Dan Wessons, and put them on Smith's and Colts. Can't remember the exact reason. If it is a 10'' barrel from a DW, it probably has a 1 in 10'' twist rate. Shoots the 180 and 200 grain bullets much better than a standard 1 in 18 twist. Just a guess mind you.  Good Luck   gypsyman
