Just came in to a 10" 45/410 barrel
« on: November 25, 2007, 01:00:18 PM »
I am unfamiliar with this barrel.  Can someone tell me about the choke that is in this barrel?  is it to be used with the 45 or as i am guessing the 410?  I am assuming the choke is a wad stripper for use with the 410, but I am not shooting this thing until I know for sure.  thanks for any help.

ok, you have a very fun barrel and it is a great hunter out to about 30 yards.

The choke is to stop the spin of the wad and it MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE YOU FIRE A 45 COLT OR A 410 SLUG

I load have a load with .350 round balls that work great for larger critters.

Mine is the one with normal sight and it shoots the 45 colt good out to about 50 yards it can work for deer in a pinch.
do not ever shoot a 454 or 460 round out of it even though it will fit and fire. the chamber is not set up for it and will be very dangerous.
one last point when ever you take out the choke tube and reinstall it put choke tube lube on it and put plenty of it and do not over tighten it just snug it up
