Does your barrel have a muzzle break?  If not, then yes you will encounter more recoil.  I have a rifle chambered in this cartridge and the recoil is bad enough with heavy loads.

I recommend you shoot a reduced load of H4895 behind a Hornady 180 SSPB (single shot pistol bullet).  H4895 is the only powder you can safely reduce your load to 60% of the maximum load listed in Hodgdon's data.  See Hodgdon's website for youth reloading data information.  This will fully explain Youth/Reduced velocity loads using only H4895.

Anyway, my Ruger rifle will print half inch groups at 100 yards with this bullet when my initial start velocity is 2,350 fps.  Makes a nice load similiar to a 35 Remington.

Good luck and let us know your results.  I am a 35 caliber nut myself and have dreamed of an Encore pistol barrel in 350 Remington Magnum.

I had an XP in 350 RM.  Notice I said HAD.  It did have an SSK brake but was more recoil than I wanted.  I find my Magna-ported 375 JDJ barrel pleasent to shoot.
