Prob with aftermarket barrel
« on: March 21, 2008, 04:55:48 AM »
Hey guys, I recently bought a EFK firedragon 9mm conversion barrel for my g22.  It fits in perfect.  When i put in a g17 magazine it cycle the first round just fine, but when I try to cycle it again, the round in the chamber hits the lip of the brass of the second round that is still in the magazine when being extracted.  Can anyone help me with this?  Thanks guys

Changing to a 9mm extractor should help. The larger breach face of the .40 along with the .40 extractor is letting the case drop as it is extracted from the chamber. This would be more likely to occur when hand cycling the action. It will probably work ok when actually firing.

Before spending money try cycling the pistol quicker as if it was firing.  Is the mag spring a new one especially in a klinton mag?  Point is a strong mag spring may be pusing the second round up a bit.  Also try down loading the mag by 2 and see if it still happens.

Any time you are using live ammo bad things can happen.  Make sure you have the muzzle in a safe direction.
