Muzzleoader velocity
« on: November 30, 2007, 05:35:18 AM »
Was wondering if  anybody knew which was faster using 240-300 grain bullets in .44 mag. in saboted jackets in an inline muzzleloader or is the bullet faster being fired out of modern rifle, using comparable bullets?
thanks in advance

I am shooting smokeless powder in my Savage muzzleloader. I get 2,300 fps with the .45  250 XTP, and it is not a big deal to crank it up to 2,500 fps if your shoulder can take it.
I doubt you will get close to that speed from that Ruger carbine.
Aim small don't miss.
