Knight Disc Elite 45, Stainless Synthetic
« on: November 07, 2007, 04:31:44 PM »
To those who may can help,

I have had a terrible time getting this thing to shoot good enough to take it hunting. I have tried Black Mag, Triple 7  loose and triple seven pellets, I've tried 225 power belts, 275 power belts, dead center's, and 200 grain SST's. I respect game more than to take this rifle hunting.

My question is does anyone here have a combination that will help me not want to send this "POS" back to the factory for destruction.

Oh, I have Leupold rings and bases and a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40, all tight and working good. I must say I have done my best, but it is not good enough yet. The rifle has a great trigger and feels great, but I am really discouraged with it.

Many Thanks,  Bubba Jack

I have a elite 45 but in blue.  Barrel twist is 1-20. Chased a a lot different loads and called Knight for advise.  They recommended knight red hots either 175 or 195 grain bullets. They stated that they liked to be pushed...120 to 150 grains of powder.  I tried APP fff 140 grains with the 175 grain bullet & shot 11/2" group at 82 yards. Tried Black Mag 3 last week end and 140 grains of BM3 gave me about 3" group.  Lowered the charge to 130 with the 175 gr bullet and had a 3 shot group of 1".  The best part is at 140 yards this load is only 3" low from center. Hope this helps.  I'm using harvester blue sabots, they load easier than the [2] supplied with the barnes/knight bullets

Medium-high loads work well and the Knight red hots are the best and all I have got to work in the Knight Disc Elite I used to own.
