Successful hunt with Topper!

Yesterday was a very good day.  I picked up this used Topper 30-30 this spring as an extra for when the Grand kids were old enough to hunt with me.  Of course i could not resist taking it hunting to try it out.  Shot a nice whitetail doe last night at about 70 yds.  One shot, and the 150 gr Winchester factory bullet did exactly what it was supposed to do.  The Topper is wearing a 4x Leopold compact scope that fits it nicely and clears the old style hammer well.  I shortened the stock an inch for the kids and I also like a short stocked rifle.  The Grand kids may have to arm wrestle me for this one!  This may become my favorite rifle!  44 Man

Nothing they make today compares with that gun for easy carrying and balance. Congrats on the meat.

A job well done 44man! I myself have been looking for an old topper for a while now. Just seems everytime i find something i run out of money! ;DLOL But congrats! I love to see These rifles doing what they were made to do. Put some meat on the table! :P Yummy!

I have a Handi 30-30 with a 4x Weaver on it.
I love it, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Light to carry, light recoil and shoots 1" at 100 yds.
Can't beat a good 30-30!!
