Reloading slugs ?
« on: December 01, 2007, 03:00:29 PM »
I am planning on reloading some slugs for my 835 mossberg with a rifled slug barrel. I am looking for either the foster type or sabots to try. Will be shooting 3" mag and possably   work up to the 3 1/2" mag. I have been loading shot shells now for many years and have never found any slugs to buy to try them.
 Any help will be appreciated.
 Thanks.

ballisticproducts.com has an awesome dangerous game slug which is extremely accurate out of my remington rifled barrel.  They also sell a saboted version of it.  I handload them, and use Hodgdon Longshot.  They are easier to load that a regular shotgun shell.  Put in the powder, the slug is attached to the wad so you just push it down in, put an overshot card on it, and roll crimp it.  They also sell the roll crimpers that you use in a drill.  Easy, accurate, and they are very devastating on deer.
