Deer loads for the .300 RUM
« on: November 29, 2007, 08:59:37 AM »
Anybody have some?  I'm looking for something relatively flat shooting and accurate. I have a muzzle brake on it, so the recoil is not an issue.  It's a pussycat now- I just can't drop 60 bucks a box anymore, and with a hundred or so empties it's time to start.

I'd imagine a light bullet pushed to moderate speeds- something like or maybe above the 30-06.  Thanks!

Currently I'm using the Remington 180gr Scriocco load, so similar ballistics would be nice I suppose...

Go to the Hornady webpage and get some data on their new Interbond bullets!

My Savage 300 RUM likes 80 grains of IMR 4350 with 180 grain Nosler Partitions. This load chrongraphs at 2980 fps.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.
