Best Coyote/Bobcat Bullet for .308 Win?

I think this would make a fine coyote bullet at 115 grains...Lyman has loading data for it from 1540fps to 2272 fps...The price is excellent as well at $9.00 per hundred...

On that link they mentioned #2 alloy,  isn't that reasonably hard?

Would somthing flat tipped kill better, since you likly will get no/little expansion?

At 30 cal does it matter?

I only ever shot one fox with a 308.  110 Hornady sp, it was a huge fox but it was not torn up too bad (probably just lucky).

What about the 110 round nose for the 30 carbine and  a blue dot load doing 2500 fps or so or the speer 100 gr plinker?

Your goal of reducing damage to the pelt is not compatible with your choice of firearm caliber. A FMJ at a reduced fps is probably the closest choice but as mentioned you should chose a different caliber or figure you will live with the pelt damage.

What about head shooting them.  I once shot a bobcat in the head with my .50 black powder.  He didn't go anywhere and their wan't much fur damage.

This might help...#2 isn't as hard as some...and not as soft as others...

I shoot them with FMJ loads.  They are cheap and everyone I have shot falls dead with a small .30 cal hole, it starches them.  I don't skin them, just take them to the local fur buyer.  Usually get about $20-25 for whole animal.  More for the cats.  He doesn't mind the hole.  Really never says a word.  He doesn't want you to skin them, he is the pro.

I also got in with a group of guys that run them with dogs and we communicate with radios and shoot them on the run.  It is too much fun.  I am beginning to like varmint hunting more than deer hunting.   Plus I always learn something to help with the deer hunting and get to know the farmers.

There are so many coyotes and cats here in NE Kansas it is ridiculous.  Every night, everywhere I go in the country they howl.  Sounds like hundreds of them.
