Rimmed vs rimless
« on: December 18, 2007, 03:01:19 AM »
Is it just me or from reading the posts over a period of time it appears that rimmed rounds tend to be more accurate in Handis straight out of the box compared to most rimless rounds. Other's opinions?

Don't know about accuracy, but having a rim solves a lot of problems some Handi's have.  With a rim to head space on the chamber depth is far less critical to the function of the rifle, and having a rim makes extraction/ejection much easier also.  Larry

No..I don't think so..About the only Handi I know of that will shoot 1 hole groups right out of the box is the 223 Bull barrel with Winchester White box ammo....all the rest of them have their preferences...and need a little help...At 1 time...the rimmed cartridges were the most reliable in the Handi's...but that isn't the case any longer since the switch over to extractors...
