ok i bought a 243 with brown checkered lams today for 250 it came with a factory 20 ga 3 in mod i put the stocks on my 44 243 Handy the stocks are Monty Carlo so the 20 ga it came with you cant use but it was a factory fit #s match so i put the Handy stock on the ultra with 20 ga so i can use the bead sight boy is this thing light has syn stock new pheasant gun so is there any difference really with the 243s in accuracy haven't got to shoot it yet and probably wont with the weather getting real bad for next few days so let me hear the good bad n ugly so i know what to expect

If it is the 24" bull barrel ultra 243...they can be exceptional shooters...Mine I sold to michell did awesome with the 95grain Combined Technology Silver Ballistic tips for me...and with the 55 grain version of the same bullet...

ok guys im a nut but i sat down and thought about it and spent a lil time in the gun room today i just got this gun switched the stocks put the lams on the Handy frame with 44 on it sweet looking put the plastic stocks on the ultra took the scope off the 243 Handy it is a 6 18 40 ao Simmons took the scope off the 44 was cheap bsa red dot had to change the scope rail on the 44 to mount Bushnell 1 30 red dot got it done put the Simmons on the ultra got it done so the Handy 243 is naked in the back of the gun cabinet hope the ultra shoots as good or better than the Handy did the 44 is a lil tight with the lams will this work a lil loose after a while so now i got my 243 20 ga combo still have my 44 boy i love this lil 44 mag sweet gun i have about 400 in it all a 243ultra with 20 ga a 44 Handy with a 243 standard i think i did good hope they all shoot good did before im sure they will now i love these guns they shoot as good as any other gun if not better than most some guys think you have to spend a fortune to get a good gun but for the money or at any price you cant get a more reliable better built gun anywhere i think ill have to get some pics post them any one know where i can get a new but pad for the brown lams it is a montycarlo if so let me know i have to get to the range after the weather breaks ill post results then

OK here we go. I was just bulll#&%&*#& about what i bought and what i was doing with it. The ?s I had were 1. Will the for-end ( the brown laminate one that came on the ultra) loosen up a little over time. ( I put it on the Hindi frame with a 44 mag barrel) . 2. Dose any One know where I can get a but pad for a ultra Monty Carlo laminate. ( It is the checkered one) I thought it was kinda funny that all of us gun nuts were so proper.

Forends will loosen over time, both at the barrel lug and at the plastic spacer. You can tighten it up with a shim between the spacer and forend as mentioned in the FAQs.

Butt pads can be purchased from H&R, but they're individually fitted, so you'll have to do that so it fits your stock. You might consider a Limbsaver grind to fit which can be fitted the same way and is a nicer pad, or the #10003 or #10601 prefits, they fit a lot of stocks farily well, just need new hole(s) drilled in the stock.

Just another avenue on the butt pad.....I put a slip-on Limbsaver on my TDC and it's pretty nice. My TDC wears a monte carlo cinnamon lam stock like one of the Ultra rifles would. It's going to increase your LOP a bit, but for me, it wasn't a big deal.

Just another option.....
