It's all YOUR fault!!!! Now help me out..........
« on: December 14, 2007, 09:38:40 AM »
My name is Steve and I am an addict.   It used to be antique military rifles, single action revolvers, and contenders.  Now, THANKS TO YOU, it is NEF single shot rifles!!  I am getting the whole rifle cheaper than some of my contender barrels.

I had a .223 heavy barrel and a tiny 22/.410 interchangeable barrel model.
Now, as of this week, I have added a .17HMR and a 204 Ruger.

Every time I pick up one, I think of another that I can get.
But, first things first.

I am going thru the FAQ thread and picking up some info.

Things needed right now are:  take down instructions, schematic, etc.  I want to get in there and do a little clean up on the trigger on the .223.  Also need suggestions on load data for the 204.  I have found lots of data, but don't have time to go thru H322, H335, WW748, AA2015, Benchmark, etc.  Can anyone narrow down the list for me.  What works in the NEF?  I have not even checked barrel twist.  I have Hornady 32 grain bullets, 100 brass, and a set of dies.  I would like to set down at my dillon and knock out 100 rounds before Christmas so I can see what coyotes do when 204s hit them.  Suggestions?

Thanks for some great info.  I will be looking in here a lot.

Steve :)

Congratulations!
There are 2 different sets in instructions on trigger jobs in the FAQs.
They have pics and are the best instructions for taking apart and putting back.

Sorry I don't have 204 loads.

For the 204 go to H4895 and 39 grain sierra's (vermin will kill a coyote but not fur friendly) or 35 gr bergers (great predator head) do not pass go, do not collect 200$

my loads are max - 0.3 and max - 0.7 respectively.

My 204 shoots best with BL-C2 and 40gr Vmax using Hodgdon data. There's a schematic in the FAQs, but Comcast online storage is disabled right now, but between Perko's and Raynor's trigger info, you shouldn't have a problem with trigger work, hundreds of newbies before you have used the info successfully. ;)

Twist rate for the .204 is 1:12" as listed in the FAQs also.

exit on coyotes with this load(insides turn to jelly).Load data from Walt Berger.
