No Muzzleloaders in the 2008 Catalog!

Bummer, I hope this is not the end of the muzzleloaders. Not even a Sidekick in there. I was hoping for a 12ga muzzleloading Turkey Thumper someday, but it don't look good.

I know I don't understand that. It was a well made gun, very accurate, and decently priced. I am glad I got the Sidekick a couple of years ago. That started my Handi mania too.

I guess this bring the question, "How long will H&R/NEF continue to make their proprietary primer carrier?" I have converted mine to .25 ACP, but there are a lot of Huntsmans and Sidekicks that will be dead-in-the-water if they can't find anyone that has a stock of these.

I sure hope they didn't discontinue the Sidekick in favor of the Remditions (Remington/Traditions) Genesis. I'm sure this was already in the works, but I really don't understand what happened that would make them stop making them. I know at one time Green Mountain was making the Huntsman barrels, wonder if the Knight KP1 put the kibosh to that? That would be my guess.

Probably will. I think Green Mtn barrels aren't going to make barrels but for a few that Knight will allow. Maybe they will find someone to make their barrels and bring them back. I don't think they will take Rems ML because I think Rem will drop it. I don't know who was making the ML barrels but I have the idea that Green Mtn may have stopped that a while back. I think that this is the end of NEF and H&R as we know it. Something is going to happen but I am not sure yet.

Terrible news!! The Sidekick is the best muzzleoader for the $$$$ bar none. Mine is 3 years old and going strong!! Remington is the worst thing to happen to NEF/H&R it`s terrible. I was also going to order soon a Handi .44 Mag in wood with open sights, I guess not now. I am done with new NEF/H&R anything unless it is NOS or Used. I quit buying Remingtons because that holding company that bought them has ruined them also, foreign guns, stinky R3 recoil pad and bad finishes on alot of them now. It looks like Ruger from now on and Henry and small companies.

I don't think Rem will change their products. I still love Rems and I like the R3 Recoil pad. That and the stocks are better than NEF. Rem is still dominating.

I, too, was planning to buy a new Handi .44 magnum in the next few months. But no way am I going to buy one without iron sights. And with this SB1 frame thing, I wouldn't be able to get a another center fire accessory barrel for it either! I think they really messed up a good gun! I guess the hunt begins for a good pre safety Marlin 1894.

Word!! Remington could go under for all I care anymore and the 700`s use to be my favorite bolt guns.

If Rem went over it would destroy all gun manufactures. Probably get rid of most to all of the shooting sports. I never would hope they would go under because it would  be another gun manufacture lost and would aid in helping the anti gunners.
