If you are a handy person you can work these triggers down to a respectable pull. It requires patience, some nice honing stones & a little time. If you don't have these things, you can buy some very good trigger kits you can install yourself. I buy them through Midway when they have a sale on them. These complete kits will bring the pull to about 2 1/2 lbs.  I have some of my 10/22's  with these kits now.

Understand, I have no personal experience with this sort of thing. The wife gve me the choice of  a 10-22 or a CZ bolt for a retirement present, and I went with the bolt. (no regrets!)

On another forum, a replacement hammer kit is far and away the first choice for dropping the trigger pull. Some say that is all you need. (Well, that and LOTS of ammo.) Midway had 'em on sale some time ago.

My 10/22T came with an awesome trigger.  The standard and the international I also own are not too much worse.

Scroll down to the Power Custom hammer Or the VQ hammer.I have both and they'll drop your pull down to about 2 1/2#.A little polishing on the bottom of the trigger and the sear edges and you can get down below 2#.Best bang for the buck.New trigger groups can be had,but mucho dollars.Slow

There is another forum on the net, devoted to 10/22's, that has TONS of tricks and tips for these rifles.
They have step by steps, with pictures, to clean up the stock trigger and make it respectable...but an aftermarket would be the best choice. I won't disclose the name... but when it comes to the 10/22 RIMFIRE this is the CENTRAL dot COM source for information.
