Hello,

I am excited to find a cannon forum.   I have just received my new to me cannon.   My understanding wife let me set it up in a corner of our living room.   My reasoning is that it needs to be warm to work on it, right?   The fellow I got it off says it is a 2/3 replica of a British 6pdr used during the Napoleonic Wars.   I have been searching on line with little luck and have ordered a book of British Artillery of that time period.   As you can see it doesn't have the cast-off wheels,  and has a screw breech.   I assume that these features are not as per the original.   I can live with these non-PC faults - heck it is still going to be fun to shoot oranges and juice cans out of.   I will replace the Robertson and Philips screws and the barrel strap keys.   Anyway here she, sorry he - The Iron Duke, (The first owner nailed handmade brass letters down the trail).

I can't think of a better centerpiece for the LR!

Suggest taking it outside to shoot, but I'd be sorely tempted to just open the window!

Would sure scare the bejeebers out of any Peeping Tom !!!!  I know from experience that if you put it in the back of your pickup truck it will drastically reduce the incidence of tailgaiters.

 Welcome to the board.  You will find a bunch of great guys here.

 On a side note- I might suggest that you take a second look at the elevating screw on your field piece. I could be wrong but, it may be installed upside down. It seems a bit impractical to me to have to reach under the trail to use the elevation wheel.

where did you get the cannon on top. I'm new to this forum and cannons.
I have one small 30 caliber cannon I received in a trade. But would like another.
This cannon stuff is addicting I'm hooked forever.
