Using Pyrodex P in a ML Rifle

I have a pound of Pyrodex P and having sold the Ruger Old Army I would like to use it in my ML rifles.  I have a T/C Seneca .45 cal, a NEF in .50 cal. and a T/C Firehawk in 50 cal.  Can use the Pyrodex P in a volume for volume load or do I have to back off on it some.  Any ideas?  I’d rather not just burn it in a pile in the driveway…

As I recall the rule of thumb was to back off on the volume measured load by 20% to start when using P or FFF as a substitute for RS or FF.
