Venison Chicken Fry Recipe
« on: May 13, 2009, 08:03:44 AM »
This is an old recipe from Baker County Oregon for deer and elk

Pound steaks thin

Set in egg mixture for 1/2 hour

Egg mixture

Whole eggs beaten
Milk
Seasoned salt
Pepper

Next set in cracker mixture both sides

Cracker mixture

Crushed saltine crackers...fine, will be 2/3 of mix
Flour 1/3 of mix
1 pkg. dried onion soup
Seasoned salt
Pepper
Garlic powder

Fry in hot oil
Turn when blood comes to the top

If meat is a bit gamy it will correct that problem

Never used this recipe at home, always at camp.  I use a large cast iron frying pan
