My wonderful wife ordered me a new holster from "Simply Rugged" out of Alaska for Christmas. I always pack a sixgun when I'm out in the woods, and my usual method of carry is a cheap uncle mike's carried crossdraw. Don't want anything too nice for woods bumming!
Anyway, this new holster I got lets you carry across your chest......kinda like a "tanker" style rig. I wore it hunting yesterday and LOVED it! My gun wasn't poking into my "flop-over" areas, the grip didn't bang in the armrests on my stand, and I could actually draw from a seated position without contorting myself into odd positions. The straps had enough adjust to carry outside my coat, and the way they are arranged it seems to spread out the weight very well. I had her order it for a 7.5" bbl so I could switch off with my 5.5".
Just wanted to pass the word on these to any of you fellow hunters out there who might be looking for a more comfortable way to carry in the field.
