Contender pistol scope mounting help needed
« on: January 14, 2008, 06:54:16 AM »
Hello. I just purchased a G1 Contender  , 44 mag ,that came with a Bushnell / rail scope mounting..I like the rail as it gives you a " see thru" mount  for a short range shot but I'm changing scope and wondered if there is a way to put a rail-less scope on that rail / channel or  if someone makes a see  thru mount for rail less scopes that would go on a standard Contender base...

Would like to know what folks here use for close shots on deer.

Thanks , Randy

As far as I know there is no way to adapt a standard scope to the rail mount. This was a T/C idea. As far as close shots on deer a good variable power handgun scope set on its lowest power will do you just fine. With a little practice close offhand shots no problem. Try to shoot up close with both eyes open helps with target acquisition.
