.222 10" Contender w/front sight
« on: December 22, 2007, 02:58:25 AM »
I have this barrel but it wont fit in the shoulder holster that I made with the front sight.  Is there a way to remove it, I cant see any screws.  Thanks

the older ones where brazed on the barrel. you can get it off with some work but then there no going back unless you frill and tap.

Take a look at it from the muzzle end.  If it is one of the brazed on sights on a round barrel you will see a flat spot machined into the barrel.  Even if you remove the sight the flat spot will remain.
