My son's black bear with H&R Ultra
« on: December 29, 2007, 02:17:34 AM »
My daughter showed me how to post pics after all these years, and boys, I'm practicing.

Here is my son's cinnamon colored blackie, taken in Idaho last year, on a spot/stalk hunt.  The shot was 200 yds.  The Ultra is a .30-06, and he used 180 gr. nosler part. factory ammo.  This is the same rifle he will use in Africa, next July for our plains game hunt.  The scope is a Leupold 4X.

Really nice. Congratulations to your son, your daughter, and their father for showing his kids the great outdoors!

Nice bear but I thought you could only hunt in Africa with thousand dollar guns. Kurt

My son and my guns together with the case, are only worth about a $1,000!

This is my bear taken on the same trip with my Marlin .45-70 guide gun.  Yep, that's what I'M takin to Africa, with handloaded 300 gr. nosler partitions.  The bear above was shot with the leverevolution ammo.
