A while back my 1894C had an accident involving a squib round followed by a live one. The result was a ruined barrel. I finally got around to sending it to Marlin for a new barrel, etc. They had it fixed and back to me in about two weeks. They replaced not only the barrel but the mag tube and a couple of other parts for what I thought was a very reasonable price. The first thing I noticed was that the gun cycled a whole lot smoother than it had before. It finally got warm enough this weekend to take it to the range. I started with some cast 158 G bullets and it wasn't worth a dime at twentyfive yards. The 357 load was all over the place. Some 158 G 38 specials were somewhat better. I took it out to 50 yards with some 158 SP over a max load of H110 and there was all the difference in the world. With the 158 SP and some 180G HPs I was getting 1 inch groups. This is great and probably will get even better as the barrel breaks in.
