Seems I am in the minority on this one. I have never had good luck with any of the bulk packed bullets.

I have had good luck with the CCI line of ammo. the lone exception would be the Stinger, it just doesn't shot great in my guns.

Federal has never caught on for me in the rimfires.

Remington is known for its missfires and Winchester just seems so so, with the exception of the excellent Power Point.

RWS is another that is excellent. There Rifle Match and Subsonic are some of the most accurate I have shot. They are rather costly in comparison.

 Top performer for me has been the CCI STD vel, SGB, Subsonic and CBLong bullets.

I have a couple rifles my two favorites are a 29" barreled CZ 452 bolt gun and a customized Marlin Squirrel. Both are excellent shooters.

CCI's never held a good tight pattern in my BRNO at 50 yards, and even worse at 100.   The RWS showed nothing spectacular.  Subsonics and longs, well, I might as well just point and close my eyes and probably do better than aiming.      But when using Fed 510 or Winchester T22 it gets down and does things right.

Well, that's what makes the world go round and why we have so many selections out there!!  Every firearm has its own likes and dislikes. I have seen it many many times over, guns with consecutive serial numbers not liking the same ammo. Its just the way it is... The fun lies in the finding out what those likes and dislikes are!!

 You are so right CW.. What works very well in one rifle may be a nightmare in another rifle of the same make & model. ..But as you said, that's the fun of the whole rimfire thing. From my experience, CCI mini-mags work well in more guns, more regularly..than any other ammo.
....But again; That is just my experience.

Tried the Winchester Power Points this week while Squirrel hunting.     They definitely do the job, and then some.   A little to much damage on Squirrels for my liking, so I'll just stay with the Federal 510.   May go out again in the morning if all goes well.

You're right, I don't have a problem with that, but those were all soaked with the leakage from their massive wounds.   And you can't skin'em without handlin'em, and leaving stains everywhere you lay'em.

Where as the 510's only left a small hole for leakage, and not much problem while skinning.  I'd rather skin a clean critter as a messy one. :D

Since I've never tried the Remington SubSonic's, and there's been so much positive posts about it, I decided to give it a try.  

Results:    I like it.   The RoundNose, [in contrast to Remington's Truncated], bullet runs smoothly thru my rifle.    A little less noisy than the 510's and Power Points I like so well.   Possibly will do less damage than the Power Points also.  

There is a noticable oddity with these bullets.   The spent rounds show signs of powder flash residue on the cases.   Any of you noticed this?    Looks like it may be to a powder that's going to leave a lot of residue......

Common occurrence with lately loaded bullets. Pressures are not high enough to allow the brass to seal off the chamber from gasses. Just not so common in rimfires. Don't worry about it and just clean it a bit more often.

 I too like the way the rems shoot, the inconsistency in ignition keeps me away. Cyclones where one of the most accurate in one 22 rifle. I have shot the subsonics as well as the reg target rounds as practice rounds in my benelli target pistol. They shot very well, but too many missfires.
