Act now or later
« on: December 31, 2007, 08:42:31 AM »
I have a Reeder 50cal coming soon. Two toned 5 1/2 barrel revolver. I have the chance to buy a 45colt Ruger Bisley w/45acp cylinder nib. It would be my first 45 colt. Should I buy now or wait to get the funds for a FA 97 45colt? If I get the Ruger I would send it out to Dave Clements for his $450.00 fix. Whatcha think? Thanks guys!

I had a Ruger and sold it. Now I have an FA97 in .45 Colt. Guess that tells ya where I stand on the question.

no easy answer to that one. I guess if you know your going to spend 450 to tune it and nothing more id save the extra and buy the fa. Ive done lots of custom sixguns on rugers and love them but along with the tuning i get a sixgun that looks the way i want it to look. I like blued guns and have a special love of blued case hardened guns. You cant get a blued FA so custom work is the only route. If a guy is happy with a stainless gun a FA gun is as good or better then what your going to get by tuning up a ruger. Best advice i can give you when buying a gun is let your heart do the talking and not your checkbook. Id much rather have one gun i really want then 3 that i bought because they were a good deal.

Thanks gentleman for your input . The" get what you want ,not  because its a good deal" rings true. The revolvers are for hunting thats why I prefer stainless. I was all set to pull the trigger on the Ruger now I will wait for the FA's. Happy New Year!
