Wanted to thank everyone that I have met since joining G/B, especially Quicktdoo and a number of others that helped me get hooked!
Although I'm by no means at the Sr. level as some of you I am beginning to build the arsenal now having a 17HMR Sportster, and recently got a 308 Survivor that I hope to put First blood on during the final 2-days of Md. late rifle season this Fri/Sat.

Have lobbied several of the guys individually and would like to get an overall consensus in regard to After-market stocks that are available for conversions. For my 17HMR I am planning to swap out the original forearm for the Survivor Forearm. Finish will either be DIY if I get the courage to attempt that or send him out to Bell & Carlson for their new "Creative Affects" finish.

I really want to change out the factory Monte Carlo butt stock to either a T-Hole and have actually considered trying to "Modify" a butt stock such as the CVA composite T-Hole that is available thru Bass-Pro and try to fit it to the NEF which may be quite a challenge.
My main concern in buying one of the Laminate T-Holes from Gunstock Inc. is having the final finish being either Spider-webbed, or camo'ed.

Would appreciate any advise and/or thoughts out there as I gear up for this one.

Encore or Contender are worse as the barrels cost as much as a 90% of a whole handi plus you have the option of rifle or handgun.
If you do get one register it as a handgun if you buy it new.
Law says you can turn a handgun to a rifle but can not go the other way.
